Mother Ashanti — Vodou Practitioner & Rootworker
My roots trace back to Dahomey in West Africa, where the sacred knowledge of Vodou and Rootwork has been passed down through generations of women in my family. That tradition came with us to Louisiana, where I was born and raised, and where I learned the old ways directly from my mother, a respected practitioner in our community.
I didn’t come to this work through books or trends. I was raised in it, watching, listening, and serving at the altar from a young age. My training was lived, not taught. Everything I do is grounded in spirit, discipline, and lineage.
I moved to the UK ten years ago, bringing my family’s practices with me. Here at Solitary Morrigan, I continue that work with care and integrity, offering rituals for love, influence, cleansing, protection, and justice when needed.
I work closely with the Loas and I have a strong relationship with Erzulie, whose presence guides much of my love and attraction work. All spellwork is done by hand, prepared with focus and respect, and carried out only when I receive clear spiritual permission.
