What Is Blood Magick ?

Blood Magick: A Blood Spell

Blood magick is the act of using blood as a tool when making a protection amulet, performing a ritual, casting a spell, binding, hexing or cursing.

Ok this is where things get tricky. Blood-spells are extremely difficult to unbind. Remember that your blood is your essence. Without your blood a spell carries your intent, your purpose, your focus and drive. With your blood a spell carries all that plus a piece of you. Blood spells require quite a bit more energy than non-blood spells. The DNA in your blood resonates at the same frequency as the blood in your body. Even after it has dried out the DNA in the blood is still you. You are bound to the spell just as you would be bound to an enchanted object (like the protection amulet). Breaking a blood spell is near to impossible. The results of a blood-spell is stronger than that of a regular spell, for all those involved, for better or for worse.

Additionally there is no such thing as an anonymous blood-spell. A blood-spell carries with it, your signature. Blood attaches your essence. It makes sense because blood is personally identifiable, magical, life water. Without blood there is no life. Your blood is unique and identifies as yours alone, a combination of your parents and similar to your siblings, but uniquely yours. So if you wish to remain anonymous in your spell work stop here. Read another spell post. This is not the one for you.

Depending on the intent of your spell you may need different supplies. Follow all the same steps of typical spell casting and add a few drops (3 for spiritual matters and 4 for earthly concerns) of blood to your charm, written spell or element of choice. For deity-involved spell-casting your blood is an offering. Treat your blood with the same reverence you do the incense, food or other offering.

If you are using Fire magic you can drip the blood onto the paper before burning. It will not cause your blood to boil or anything like that. It will release a tiny bit of your essence from the physical plane into the spiritual.

If you are practising Earth magic dripping your blood onto the Earth will not cause the Earth to open up and consume you. It will release a tiny bit of your essence from the physical plane into the Earth’s energy.

If you are practising Water magic no leviathan will emerge from the depths of the drain to eat you. It will release a tiny bit of your essence from the physical plane into the sea of the cosmos.

If you are practising Air magic the wind-swept blood droplets will not cause a tornado to destroy you or your home. It will release a tiny bit of your essence from the physical plane into the atmosphere.

If you are casting your spell with the help of a deity research your deity’s opinion of blood. The gods are many things and some are squeamish. Learn the story of your deity and make a guess. Follow your instinct. Your deity will let you know if the blood is appreciated or not.

If you have the need for a sudden spell without time for preparation then don’t use blood magick

Conclude your spell-work the way you normally would and go on with life. Do not be surprised if the recipient of your spell feels like you must have had something to do with the change in their life. There is no such thing as an anonymous blood-spell.

Blood-spells hold on longer and act more swiftly than a bloodless spell. As with all spells the effects will wane with time.

Magickal Uses of Hyssop

Magickal Uses of Hyssop
GENDER : Masculine

PLANET : Jupiter

POWERS : Purification Protection

Folklore: In Renaissance-era Europe, hyssop was typically used as an air freshener in the same manner as we potpourri today. It was common to strew crushed hyssop leaves and flowers of around the house, particularly in sickrooms, to hide unpleasant smells – after all, daily bathing was hardly popular. Eventually, when bathing became more common, hyssop was still used in sickrooms because of its healing properties. Conveniently enough, it also killed body lice, which were rampant at the time.

Hung up in the home, hyssop can rid a house of negativity. Add it into a sachet or water to infuse or sprinkle on people in need of purification. It’s also good for use in magical self-defense – carry some in your pocket, or spread it around the perimeter of your property to add a layer of magical protection.
In The Book of Exodus, on the night of Passover, the blood of the sacrifices was applied to mark the doorposts by using Hyssop.

It is used by the priests in the Temple of Solomon for various purification rites.

Hyssop is often used to fill the Catholic ceremonial Aspergillum for ritual blessing the congregation.
The sponge soaked in sour wine or vinegar and which was offered to Jesus on the cross, was attached to a branch of Hyssop.

Hyssop is a purifying herb, used to sweep sacred spaces. Infused with water, it is sprinkled lightly over objects to cleanse them.
The plant cleanses and protects homes from harmful energies; hanging at windows or doors or scattered.
It is used in many protection rituals for both the mind and the body.

Hyssop is considered to contain dragon energy and this can be bestowed by burning the plant as an incense or burning it in a fire.
It is mentioned in Psalm 51 of the Bible as a Spiritual Purifying Agent, as it is written: Cleanse me with

HYSSOP; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. A weak tea made from this herb has been used as a Spiritual Bath by many people to take off a Jinx or to rid themselves of Bad Habits. After bathing, they carry the used bath water to a crossroads at dawn and throw it over the left shoulder toward sunrise in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, then walk home without looking back. Some folks tell us that they make HYSSOP into tea and add it to floor wash to clear away so-called Crossed Conditions at Home, disposing of the used wash water in the same way.

Protection Spell:
The herbs that are most normally used for protection are those that have powers to disperse evil and create a protective barrier when burned, carried on your person, or hung wherever protection is needed. Because these herbs contain positive energy they are able to repel, or bounce back negative vibrations or energy.

Protection spells should be done during a waxing moon, suggested colors are red and white. The following herbs are generally considered protective in nature (this is certainly not a complete list!):
Angelica, Balm of Gilead, Basil, Betony, Dill, Elder berries, Fennel, Garlic (of course), Horehound, Hyssop, Mistletoe, Mugwort, Mullein, Rose Geranium, Rosemary, Rue, St John’s Wort, Tarragon and Vervain.

One of the simplest protective spells is to make a charm using three of the above herbs, mix them together and place them in the center of a red or white piece of cloth. (One made of Elderberries, Rosemary and Tarragon has a really delightful fragrance if it is to be used indoors.) Gather up the corners, tie and charge the sachet saying words like:

“By Water, Earth, Fire and Air,
Protect that for which I care!”

Repeat the chant three times, with greater strength and authority each time. Carry the charm with you. To protect the home, place it in the highest point of the house or near the hearth (the kitchen if you don’t have a fireplace). To protect you and your car while driving, place the charm under the driver’s seat.

Harvest Husk Wealth Spell

Harvest Husk Wealth Spell

This is an easy money spell, but it will be more powerful if you can perform it in the fall when corn is in season. If not, any other time will be fine. All you need to cast this spell is:

• One full leaf of dried corn husk
• A dollar bill
• A piece of green ribbon or yarn
• Patchouli oil

Flatten out the husk leaf and rub patchouli oil along the inside surface. As you work in the oil, repeat the following words:

With the power of harvest corn,
Bring me money, dusk till morn
Harvest wealth
Financial health
And now success is born.

Lay the dollar on the husk, and roll the two together into a tight tube. Tie it closed with the green ribbon, leaving a little extra ribbon for hanging. Hang it above a main door in your home (it doesn’t have to actually dangle into the doorway) and wealth will soon follow.

Obstacles Be Gone

Obstacles Be Gone

A multi-purpose spell that can be helpful in any aspect of your life when something is blocking your way. Whether it’s your love life, your job, or even your health, any obstacles can be removed with this incantation.

Over or under,
I must get past.
Over or under,
This will not last.

Surpass, overcome
Change, defy
Challenge, conquer
Win, succeed

Over or under
I must get past
Over or under,
This will not last.

Again, repeat the spell words during your initial casting of the spell, then repeat them to yourself through the day to build up the energy for the incantation.

Remember when you are doing incantation spells, you can’t just rattle off the words and expect miracles. Focus while you do it, and direct your energy towards your goal.

Power of 3 Healing Spell

Power of 3 Healing Spell

This spells uses the strength of the number 3 to help speed healing of an illness. It’s best used when someone is ill, rather than injured. You can use this spell for yourself (if you are well enough to really focus on it) or for someone else. Your spell supplies are:

3 candles (1 each of purple, blue and white)
Myrrh oil
Mint oil
Sandalwood oil
3 pieces of quartz
3 small pieces of paper
Anoint each of the candles with all 3 oils, and set them up in an even triangle shape on your altar. Anoint the stones as well, and place one in front of each candle. Write the name of the ill person on each piece of paper, and place them in the center of the triangle.

Light each candle and focus on the person who is sick. Think about them being healthy and free of their symptoms. Picture them strongly in your mind as the candles burn. Repeat the following three times:

Magick mend and candle burn,
Illness leave and health return

Leave the candles to burn for 3 hours, then snuff them out. Your subject should soon start to improve, but you can add some extra power to your spell if you do the entire ritual for 3 nights in a row rather than just once.

Sunny Skies Spell

Sunny Skies Spell

And for the other side of the weather coin, here is a spell to bring in some sunny skies. All you need is:

• A very small bowl
• Enough rainwater to fill the bowl
• Salt
• Yellow or orange candle

The size of the bowl kind of depends on when you want the sunny weather to kick in, so choose a dish after reading the whole spell. Fill the bowl with rainwater, and add a few pinches of salt. Not coarse sea salt, but regular fine-ground salt. Set the bowl in a window sill, or on a table near the window. Place the candle nearby and light it. Repeat the following:

Rain, rain go away
Come back another day
Yes the words are a bit cliche, but they do sum up your intentions nicely. Let the candle burn for at least an hour, or let it burn until it’s done on its own. The weather will start to clear up as the water evaporates from the bowl. When the dish is dry, it will be bright and sunny out again.

Find Your Path

Find Your Path

Not sure where you are going in life? Join the club. If you want a little magickal guidance to point the way, this is the white spell for you. You will need:

A paper map
3 push pins or thumb tacks
Thick black marker
One silver coin
One white candle
The map can be a real paper one, or just a printout and it doesn’t really matter what the region is. It’s just a symbolic element to the spell.

Lay the map out on a flat surface, but with something (like thick cardboard or even a kitchen cutting board) that can take a push pin. Push in 3 tacks to make a big triangle, though it doesn’t need to be geometrically perfect. Use the marker to draw lines between each of the tacks.

Set the coin in the center of the triangle. And repeat the words of the spell:

Which way to go,
I need to know.
Point the way,
At the end of the day.

Set the candle on the table above the map to the north and light it. Repeat the same words again. Leave the candle to burn out on its own.

When you are done, take everything apart and fold up the map. Place it under your pillow that night, and you should start to have dreams that provide you with some direction.

Bury and Banish

Bury and Banish

If there is someone in your life that you would like to not be involved with anymore, this is the spell for you. All you need is a black sheet of paper. Black construction paper is likely the easiest to find and will work fine.

Write the person’s name in the middle, and it doesn’t matter if you can’t actually read it. It just has to be there. Fold the paper up as small as you can. Take it outside and bury it in the ground. Once it’s buried, say the following out loud:

Into the ground
You can’t be found
You’re not around
I can’t heard your sound

Step over the place you’ve buried the paper, and that person will soon fade from your life.

Storm Spell

Storm Spell

If you are hoping for exciting weather, this spell can help you conjure up a storm. You only need a few things:

• A sprig of broom
• Sea salt
• Water
• Wooden spoon
• A red candle

Now, for this spell you need a piece of the broom plant, NOT an actual broom you sweep with. You may have to check herb suppliers, florists or plants shops to find it. There really isn’t a substitute for broom in a weather spell.

Light the red candle and pour water into the bowl while you say:

Rain that brings a land’s rebirth
Time to weep upon the earth.

Use the spoon to stir up the water, then dip the piece of broom in. Repeat:

Winds shall follow, you shall see
Blowing wildly through the tree

Envision a storm growing in strength and power. Let a few drops of hot wax from the candle fall into the water, and say:

Lightning quick, lightning long
Make it last, make it strong

Add in the salt to seal the spell and stir again. Give it one last stir, and take it immediately outside and toss it all into the air (you can hold on to the bowl). Don’t let the water settle down before you throw it. Now you can expect a storm to start brewing on the horizon within a few days.

Magickal Uses for Galangal

Magickal Uses for Galangal

Planetary Association: Mars
Gender: Masculine
Magickal uses of Galangal Root include winning in court, doubling money, and hex breaking. Burn as incense to remove evil spells. Carry for protection, to improve psychic abilities and to bring good health.
Worn or carried, it protects and draws good luck. Place it in a leather mojo bag with silver, to draw money.
Powdered galangal is burned to break spells and curses. It is also carried or sprinkled around the home to promote lust. Worn as a talisman, galangal aids psychic development and guards the wearer’s health.
Galangal has come to be known as Low John in Hoodoo practices, where it is often carried in a mojo bag or otherwise used in spiritual ritual and spells to find aid in winning court cases, increasing your wealth, and protection from curses. Less commonly, it can also be found used in spells seeking to increase psychic potency or those rituals and spells involving sexual magic.
Galangal nurtures the fire within. It burns away the wishy-washy thoughts of every day affairs and is thus an excellent concentration aid that will help the practitioner to focus his or her intentions. It promotes clarity of vision and helps focusing visualizations.
Just Judge Oil:
You will need:
2 part carnation petals
1 part Anise seed
1 part cinnamon
Use 2 tablespoons of this mixture to 2 oz. oil. add a piece of Galangal root to each bottle.
It is best to put some in your bath before any confrontations. Also use as a perfume on your pulse points.
Healing a Family Member
You’ll Need:
piece of blank paper
Lemon Balm
altar candle (blue, or white)
Prepare an envelope from a square of paper that you have folded – If you do not know how to do this, you can use a very small letter envelope.
On the envelope write the word “Health”. Then write the name(s) of the person you are directing the healing toward.
Enclose the following herbs into the envelope:
Angelica, Burdock, Galangal, Horehound, Elder, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Mandrake, Root, Rose, Rue, Sassafras, and Yellowdock.
Chant the following:
I charge these herbs to aid my spell,
that …………. (name of person) will be well,
That by free will that can be blessed,
with total health and happiness,
I ask the Goddess to hear my call,
that it may be correct and for the good of all.
Pass the envelope through your altar candle and catch the envelope on fire. Focus on the smoke and visualize the energy blowing with the smoke toward those in need. Allow the envelope to burn completely.
Chant the following:
I call upon a breath of wind.
Empowered by the Spirit of Air.
To carry my spell toward my kin, and gracefully deliver it there.
By all the power of three times three.
This spell bound around shall be.
To cause no harm, nor return on me.
As I do will, So mote it be!
